In this talk, Dr. Lawrence Feingold will discuss the perennial opposition between the Church and the World.
The three evangelical counsels are the most perfect ways of opposing the spirit of the world (for those to whom Christ calls to this state of life). Chastity overcomes the concupiscence of the flesh; poverty the concupiscence of the eyes; and humility the pride of life.

In this talk, Dr. Lawrence Feingold will discuss how one of the tragic stains in the history of the Church has been anti-Semitic deeds on the part of members of the Church. However, sins of the members of the Church are not “sins of the Church” per se. For the members of the Church sin when they depart from the life of the Church, which is the double commandment of charity. The fact is that the Popes, with few exceptions, have been the protectors of the Jews.

In this talk, Dr. Robert Fastiggi will discuss how many people in the USA have the mistaken impression that Christianity was first brought to the American shores by the Pilgrims at Plymouth Rock in 1620. The truth, however, is that Spanish and French Catholic missionaries brought the Gospel to what is today the USA prior to the arrival of the English Protestant Christians.

In this talk, Dr. Lawrence Feingold will discuss how, in addition to the work of evangelization of the Spanish missionaries from the south, the North America received the Catholic faith from the north through the French missionaries in New France. Of special importance were the Jesuit missionaries, who first arrived in 1625. Their mysticism and spirituality was that of the Cross, which they were called to bear in an extraordinary way.
