Monday Sep 01, 2025

In this talk, Dr. Lawrence Feingold will discuss the Social Kingship of Christ according to the Encyclical Quas Primas, and the traditional teaching of the Church.
Pope Pius XI established the feast of Christ the King in 1925 to foster awareness of the social kingship of Christ and to combat the growing danger of the secularization of Western society, by which “individuals and states refused to submit to the rule of our Savior” (Quas Primas 1).

Monday Sep 01, 2025

In this talk, Dr. Lawrence Feingold will discuss the Council of Trent and Reform of the Church.
A few years before Luther published his ninety-five theses, in the Fifth Lateran Council in 1512, one of the Fathers, Egidio da Viterbo, summed up the Catholic idea of reform : “Man must be changed by religion, not religion by man.” In other words, Catholic reform is instituted to help men to receive God’s transformative power into a deeper image and likeness of Him so as to enter into a deeper communion with Him in His Church. It is not changing the Church to make it fit secular man’s self-understanding.
